Warm greetings from the African Leadership Academy in Johannesburg, South Africa! We hope you have had a great start to the academic year.
We are pleased to send the inform you that Applications to the Engineering Leadership Program 2025 are open and accepting both students and educators.
To reintroduce myself, my name is Phenyo Tshwantsho, and I am part of the leadership team for the Chevron Engineering Leadership Program (formerly ALA Summer Engineering Academy (SEA)).
Firstly, I would like to thank you and your team for the support that you have extended to the ALA Engineering Leadership Program (ELP) in the past. We have had a great experience interacting with students who have come from your network and school community.
As you may know, the Chevron Engineering Leadership Program (ELP), sponsored by Chevron Corporation, is designed for highly motivated and talented high school students in Angola, Cameroon, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Namibia and Nigeria between the ages of 15 and 18 in South Africa that are interested in a career in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math).
Chevron ELP is an intensive program and will engage participants in various engineering practices and disciplines as they compete in groups to create and design a solution to an important, relevant engineering design challenge, being led by a team of talented educators who work in STEM and professional engineers. This year, the program will be hosted from the 30th of June - 12th July 2025 - with travel before and after the stipulated days.
